Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using PulseFeed (“the Service”), available at pulsefeed.app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

PulseFeed is a free, client-side news aggregation dashboard that displays publicly available RSS/Atom feeds from various news publishers. The Service:

  • Aggregates and displays publicly available RSS news feeds
  • Does not require user registration or accounts
  • Stores user preferences locally in the browser
  • Is provided free of charge with no premium tier

3. Content Disclaimer

PulseFeed does not create, edit, or endorse any news content displayed on the platform. All articles, headlines, images, and descriptions are sourced directly from third-party RSS feeds published by their respective news organizations.

  • We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or legality of any third-party content.
  • Article content remains the intellectual property of its original publisher.
  • Expanding an article shows the content provided by the RSS feed. Full articles are available on the original publisher's website.
  • Clicking “Read full article” takes you to the original publisher's website, subject to their own terms.
  • The automatic category classification is algorithmic and may occasionally miscategorize articles.

4. Custom RSS Feeds

The Service allows you to add custom RSS feed URLs (up to 5). By adding a custom feed, you confirm that:

  • The feed is publicly accessible and intended for public consumption.
  • You are not infringing on any copyright or terms of service of the feed provider.
  • Custom feeds are stored only in your local browser and not on our servers.

5. Translation Feature

PulseFeed offers an optional Dutch-to-English translation feature. Translations are generated automatically and may not be perfectly accurate. We are not responsible for translation errors or misinterpretations.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to scrape, crawl, or programmatically access the Service beyond normal use.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Misrepresent PulseFeed as the source or author of any news content.

7. Availability & Modifications

We strive to keep PulseFeed available at all times but make no guarantees of uptime or uninterrupted access. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without prior notice.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Service.
  • We are not liable for the content, accuracy, or availability of third-party feeds.
  • We are not liable for any loss of bookmarks, settings, or custom feeds stored in your browser.

9. Intellectual Property

The PulseFeed name, logo, and application code are our intellectual property. Third-party news content, logos, and trademarks belong to their respective owners.

10. Copyright & DMCA

PulseFeed respects the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe that content displayed on PulseFeed infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown request by emailing mail@pulsefeed.app with the following information:

  • A description of the copyrighted work you believe is being infringed.
  • The URL or description of where the infringing content appears on PulseFeed.
  • Your contact information (name and email address).
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner.

Since PulseFeed aggregates third-party RSS feeds, we will remove or disable access to the relevant feed source upon receipt of a valid takedown request.

11. Age Requirement

You must be at least 16 years old to use PulseFeed. If you are under 16, you may only use the Service with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. Since we collect no personal data, no age verification is required.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of the Netherlands.

13. Dispute Resolution

Before initiating formal legal proceedings, you agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us at mail@pulsefeed.app. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve the matter within 30 days. If informal resolution is unsuccessful, either party may pursue legal remedies in accordance with section 12.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date indicates the most recent revision. Continued use of PulseFeed after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
